We are seeking a skilled Counsellor Specialist to provide trauma-informed counselling and support to clients.
About the Role
This is a part-time position that offers an attractive salary and additional benefits, including superannuation and salary packaging tax benefits.
The successful candidate will work closely with lawyers, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Engagement Advisors, and financial counsellors to minimise the legal process's impact on clients.
* Provide crisis and short-term counselling and support to clients, face-to-face or on the phone.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance client outcomes.
* Assist clients with referrals to essential services.
* Conduct outreach, including visits to remote and regional communities.
* Represent us in community education and advocacy initiatives.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or Counselling.
* Eligibility for membership with PACFA, ACA, or the AASW having completed a recognised Psychotherapy, Counselling, Psychology, or Social Work Degree.
* 5 years + relevant experience.
* Experience providing trauma-informed counselling.
* Cultural competency – experience working respectfully and in a culturally safe way with First Nations communities.
* Strong teamwork and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Commitment to self-care and reflective practice.
