We are seeking a highly skilled Reheat Furnace Operator to oversee the safe and efficient operation of high-temperature processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate computer-based control systems to manage the reheat furnace and associated water treatment plant.
* Monitor temperature, combustion, and water quality parameters, making timely adjustments to optimize performance.
* Lead and support one team member during each shift to ensure smooth and safe operations.
* Respond to alarms and troubleshoot operational issues as they arise.
* Maintain detailed and accurate shift reports and ensure effective communication during handovers.
* Liaise with maintenance and engineering teams to escalate technical faults and contribute to reliability improvements.
* Follow safety protocols and participate in incident/accident reporting where required.
* Apply strong computer skills and process control system knowledge to support plant performance.
* Communicate clearly and professionally across shifts and teams.
* Identify opportunities to improve plant performance and production processes.
* Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
About You
* Excellent attention to detail and a 'switched-on' approach to problem-solving.
* Clear communication skills in written and spoken English – communication is key.
* Willingness and capability to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating roster.
* Trade-qualified (Electrical Fitter, Mechanical Fitter) or engineering background in process, mechanical, or electrical fields.
* Experience working in high-temperature, combustion-based, or industrial processing environments.
* Background in combustion systems, refractory work, or electrical fitting.
* Experience in water treatment systems or industrial boiler operations.
* Long-term mindset with an interest in skill-building and career growth.
