SEO Specialist – 3-Month Fixed-Term Contract Location: Melbourne or Sydney (Hybrid) Employment Type: Fixed-Term Contract (3 Months) Start Date: ASAP We are seeking an experienced SEO Specialist to join a high-performing strategic communications and digital consultancy on a 3-month fixed-term contract. This role will focus on delivering technical SEO support, optimising client websites, and driving improved search performance across a diverse portfolio of clients spanning sectors such as healthcare, government, infrastructure, and professional services. About the Role: Working closely with digital, content, and client teams, your key responsibilities will include: Conducting detailed SEO audits and identifying technical, content, and structural improvements. Developing and implementing on-page SEO strategies including meta data optimisation, page structure, technical fixes, and internal linking. Providing recommendations for off-page SEO enhancements including backlink strategies where relevant. Collaborating with content teams to optimise website copy, blogs, and digital assets for SEO performance. Monitoring and reporting on website performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, or Ahrefs. Conducting keyword research and competitor analysis to inform broader digital strategies. Preparing clear, actionable SEO reports with recommendations and insights for both internal teams and client stakeholders. Staying informed on SEO trends, Google algorithm updates, and digital best practices. About You: Minimum 3 years’ experience in SEO (either agency or in-house), with a proven track record of improving search rankings and organic traffic. Strong technical SEO skills including site audits, structured data, page speed optimisation, and mobile-first indexing. Confident using SEO tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, or equivalent platforms. Excellent understanding of keyword strategy, on-page SEO, and content optimisation. Ability to translate complex SEO data into clear, client-friendly recommendations. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Effective communicator with strong collaboration skills, able to work cross-functionally with digital, content, and client service teams.
