Overview
Based in Melbourne's South East, our client is an ASX-listed FMCG organisation experiencing growth and expansion. They are looking for a high-calibre Commercial Finance Manager for an initial 6-month engagement.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Financial Controller and completing month-end closing tasks within required timeframes, including:
Post month-end journals to ensure the accuracy of monthly reporting
Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and transparent all open items from previous months
Monthly GR/IR clearing and investigate open entries from previous months to ensure accuracy
Prepare monthly and weekly payroll and schedule payments in a timely manner
Manage FX deals and ensure hedges are settled correctly or rolled forward as appropriate
Understand trade spend and rebate categories and apply them to customer sales and terms of trade
Collaborate with AR controller to ensure rebate deductions on customer invoices are correct
Respond to auditor queries related to half-year reviews and year-end audits with supporting documentation
Coordinate with third-party providers for overseas entities to ensure accounting ledger accuracy
Ensure that bank reconciliations are completed
Qualifications
Bachelor of Commerce or Business (majoring in Accounting & Finance)
CPA/CA qualified
Minimum 7–10 years' experience in a large corporate environment (ASX, multinational)
Significant experience with ERP systems (SAP by design preferred or similar e.g., NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle)
Excellent Excel skills with ability to build templates for month-end reporting
