Quality Officer - Aged & Community Care

Temporary Full Time until September 2026 | Wangaratta, VIC | $88,121 per annum + super

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Officer to join our team and strengthen staff and organisational capability to meet current and emerging standards in Aged Care. In this dynamic role, you will play a key part in preparing our organisation for future audits and accreditation processes, ensuring our continued commitment to delivering outstanding care. You'll be part of a collaborative and values-driven team, supporting continuous improvement across aged and community care services delivered by Council. This role ensures compliance with relevant legislation, standards and guidelines — including the Aged Care Act 2024 and Aged Care Quality Standards — while promoting a culture of safety, quality and person-centred care.

What You'll Be Doing:

* Develop policies and procedures aligned with the Aged Care Act 2024 and Aged Care Quality Standards
* Coordinate preparation for internal and external audits, including OHS and accreditation processes
* Identify opportunities for quality assurance and continuous improvement across aged and community services
* Chair the Aged & Community Care Quality Management Committee and manage meeting schedules, agendas and minutes
* Maintain the Continuous Improvement Register, Client Risk Register and contribute to the RCOW Risk Register
* Collaborate with IT and Finance to implement system changes and new financial processes
* Support staff and management with quality systems, compliance documentation and service delivery improvements

What You'll Bring:

* Tertiary qualifications or substantial experience in quality management systems, continuous improvement or internal auditing
* Demonstrated experience in aged care service delivery, compliance or administration
* Strong understanding of the Aged Care Act 2024, Aged Care Quality Standards, privacy laws and elder rights
* Excellent communication, report writing and stakeholder engagement skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
* Sound computer skills and capacity to learn new systems
* A valid driver's licence and ability to undertake office-based and occasional physical tasks
