SCT Logistics is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day performance of our Dooen operations.
Reporting to the General Manager, this role is responsible for delivering safe, efficient and financially sustainable operations while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction across all site activities.
This is a key leadership position where safety, operational performance and commercial outcomes intersect.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage daily site operations to ensure safe, efficient freight handling.
* Develop rosters and allocate resources to maintain service continuity.
* Ensure compliance with WHS, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
* Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across the site.
* Manage and develop team performance through clear direction and coaching.
* Build strong relationships with customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
* Monitor operational performance, identify improvements, and drive cost efficiencies.
* Prepare and provide accurate operational and performance reports.
Desired Skills and Experience
About You:
You are a hands-on operational leader who thrives in fast-paced, safety-critical environments. You bring strong commercial acumen and understand how operational decisions directly impact financial outcomes.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in operations management (rail, ports, logistics, freight, or heavy industry preferred)
* Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and operational compliance frameworks
* Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams
* Experience managing contractors and regulatory relationships
* Strong analytical and reporting capability
* Commercial mindset with experience managing cost control and performance outcomes
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
