Job Role: Library Officer
Our library is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to fill the role of Library Officer. This position involves supporting and delivering best-practice library programs through planning, delivery, evaluation, and communication; providing direct customer service and enhancing customer engagement.
* Assist with the development and delivery of library programs and events for various age groups which may include community interests, including digital literacy programs, preschool Storytime, book clubs, and author talks.
* Collaborate with local schools and community groups to build partnerships and engage them with the library.
* Manage the day-to-day operations of the branch library under supervision of the library coordinator and in partnership with the library officer - branch services.
* In conjunction with the library officer – branch services, ensure there is an appropriate range of stock and library resources to meet local needs. Contribute to the collection development by assisting with selection and accessioning of library resources.
* Contribute to maintenance of library statistical information through collection and reporting of statistics relating to all aspects of branch usage and services.
About You
* Completion or progress towards completion of a diploma in library and information services or equivalent, recognised by the Australian library and information association (ALIA) or related tertiary qualifications.
* Demonstrated experience delivering educational or recreational public programs for diverse audiences.
* At least 2 year's experience working in a public library.
* Experience in the delivery of quality customer service to internal and external customers.
* Proficiency in the use of a variety of computer applications including Microsoft office, the internet, email, and social media.
* Commitment to work health and safety.
* Class c drivers licence.
* Current working with children check.
* Demonstrated commitment to the principles of honesty and integrity.
