Support the day-to-day operations and long-term sustainability of regional public service facilities.

Your new company

This government organisation plays a vital role in delivering essential public services across Victoria, with a strong emphasis on maintaining professional, safe, and operationally sound work environments for the community. With a newly developed precinct now active in Bendigo, the organisation is seeking a dedicated Facilities Manager to oversee and uphold the ongoing functionality and performance of this critical public facility.

Your new role

The Facilities Manager role plays a crucial part in supporting the operational and strategic needs of the newly developed precinct. Tasked with ensuring the facility's ongoing functionality, compliance, and readiness, the role covers everything from managing maintenance programs, overseeing service contracts, and responding to tenant needs, to coordinating emergency response protocols and ensuring the delivery of hard and soft facility services. Reporting locally within the Bendigo team and working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors, and court users, the Facilities Manager must deliver fit-for-purpose property solutions that uphold essential safety standards, minimise disruption to court operations, and respond quickly and efficiently to issues. The role also includes technical advisory responsibilities, strategic input into lifecycle planning and capital works, and contributes to policy improvement and organisational culture. Given the high visibility and public importance of this organisation, the position demands a proactive, client-focused approach with strong project management skills and compliance knowledge. Experience within the judicial or public sector environment is considered highly desirable.

* Manages day-to-day and strategic facility operations at the Bendigo Law Courts, including preventative and reactive maintenance and contractor oversight.
* Ensures compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and emergency management obligations, acting as Chief Warden when required.
* Provides high-level support and guidance across procurement, asset planning, and operational documentation, including FM contract development.
* Collaborates with court stakeholders, tenants, and registrars to ensure facilities meet the operational needs of a high-traffic justice precinct.
* Requires demonstrated experience in facilities management, OH&S legislation, contract delivery, and ideally prior exposure to the court or justice sector.

What you'll need to succeed

You'll bring proven experience managing facilities in complex or high-use environments, ideally within the public or institutional sector. A strong grasp of the Building Code of Australia, Essential Safety Measures, and occupational health and safety legislation is essential. You'll also have a background in vendor coordination, building compliance, and service contract delivery. A relevant trade, technical qualification, or tertiary education in property or facilities management will be highly regarded, along with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

What you'll get in return

This is your opportunity to take on a leadership role supporting one of the region's most important public buildings. You'll benefit from a values-driven organisation that offers a collaborative working culture, flexible arrangements, and clear professional development pathways. If you're looking to apply your facilities' expertise in a role that delivers meaningful, lasting impact on the community-this is it.
