We are currently searching for a reliable Driver Trainer/Assessor to join our team at the Ballarat Depot in a Part-Time capacity. This is an exciting opportunity to support the growth and capability of our drivers while contributing to a strong culture of safety, learning, and continuous improvement.
The Training & Development team delivers essential operational training to drivers and corporate teams across Victoria. As a Driver Trainer/Assessor, you'll play a vital role in designing, delivering, and enhancing a wide range of learning programs. You'll also conduct operational assessments to ensure our staff are confident, compliant, and performing to CDC Victoria's high standards.
Reporting to the General Manager, People & Culture, you will work collaboratively with our Service Delivery Manager, Operations staff, and drivers in Ballarat.
What You'll Be Doing
* Deliver prescribed classroom and on-road training programs for employees, including new driver induction.
* Promote a strong culture of safety, continuous improvement, and customer service.
* Conduct on-road assessments and ensure all training meets CDC Victoria and relevant regulatory requirements.
* Provide clear, constructive feedback to employees and line managers regarding individual and broader workforce performance.
Mandatory Requirements
* Heavy Vehicle Licence (minimum MR)
* Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE) – or willingness to obtain
* Sound knowledge of road safety practices and relevant legislation
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to deliver training in both classroom and on-road settings
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
* Previous experience as a Trainer/Assessor or Mentor Driver
* Experience in public transport, logistics, or similar operational environments
* Understanding of operational procedures and bus industry standards
* Ability to engage, coach, and influence individuals at various experience levels
