About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join a large and dynamic occupational therapy department for the provision of clinical governance, leadership and expertise within the Post Acute Adult Team, under the responsibility of a Level 4 Occupational Therapists Team Leader.

A Day In The Life

Responsible for providing evidence-based, innovative and practical solutions to support vascular and amputee patient's journey through a busy tertiary acute hospital, you will work closely with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team to achieve patient-goals.

You will be using your excellent organisational and communication skills to manage your day and provide up to date information about your patients to various stakeholders. Your knowledge and skills will continuously improve through the various learning opportunity and clinical expert clinicians in the department.

Where You'll Be Working

Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.

The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.

Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.

Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the UNSW Sydney and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.

Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.

How to Apply

1. Recognised Degree in Occupational Therapy or other qualification deemed appropriate by the employer, with registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
2. Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and significant experience in the provision of occupational therapy services within medical and/or surgical caseloads, including amputee patients in an acute and/or subacute setting.
3. Extensive experience in complex discharge planning (including NDIS and ENABLE)
4. Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision, mentoring of staff and/or students
5. Demonstrated self-directed learning & interest in research and quality activities
6. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
