Technical Support Specialist

Job Description:

The role of a Technical Support Specialist is to provide high-quality technical support services to ensure the ongoing operational capability of the Pacific Patrol Boat fleet.

This involves contributing to providing technical and support services to the Pacific Maritime Security Program, in the sustainment of the Guardian Class Patrol Boats, Pacific Patrol Boats, and Small Landing Craft external maintenance periods and defect rectification as required.

* Excellent interpersonal skills

Benefits:

* Competitive salary range: $83,706 - $89,659
* Up to 15.4% Superannuation

About Our Team:

The Pacific Systems Program Office has a long history of delivering technical support services to the Pacific Patrol Boat fleet. Since the 1960s, Australia has undertaken a range of capacity-building and engagement activities in the South Pacific and Southeast Asia under the Defence Cooperation Program.

Our Ideal Candidate:

* Will coordinate and contribute to critical and moderately complex technical activities within a specialist field and provide advice whilst working to agreed priorities and outcomes
* Will apply specialist technical knowledge and experience to identify risks and uncertainties and take these into account in planning, decision making, and priority setting
* Will use their technical knowledge to identify alternative courses of action in the continual improvement of established technical code of practices, techniques, methods, and regulations
* Will build and sustain positive relationships with team members, actively participate in teamwork, motivate and mentor developing technicians
* Will communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
* Will assess technical packages; including scoping, planning, reviewing, and providing recommendations for consideration
* Will evaluate and ensure that the delivered capability meets requirements and legislative, policy, and regulatory frameworks
* Will ensure safety aspects of Defence capability are considered and incorporated into technical activities
