SA Water is a water utility wholly owned by the Government of South Australia. It employs over 1,700 people across various disciplines who operate more than $14 billion worth of infrastructure to deliver essential water and sewerage services to over 1.8 million South Australians.

About the Job
This role involves managing the end-to-end delivery of multiple concurrent water and wastewater infrastructure projects—typically valued at $10 million or less. These projects contribute to the reliability and sustainability of essential water services across the region. You will be accountable for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to scope while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and stakeholder engagement.
* Drive the successful delivery of capital projects by leading capable and committed teams comprising internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and external Delivery Partners. Promote a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.
* Oversee all phases of project delivery – from initiation through to construction readiness– ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and risk are effectively managed. Administer contracts, lead procurement activities, and monitor progress against key milestones.
* Translate strategic objectives into practical delivery plans. Work closely with stakeholders to ensure project outcomes support organisational priorities.
* Lead the integration of safety into all aspects of project delivery. Monitor performance, investigate incidents, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and embed lessons learned to foster a proactive safety culture.
* Identify and manage commercial and delivery risks throughout the project lifecycle. Proactively consult with stakeholders, monitor evolving risks, and apply a structured and collaborative approach to risk management.
About You
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and experienced infrastructure project manager with a proven track record in delivering water, wastewater, or civil engineering projects. They are confident leading cross-functional teams and adept at managing multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic and stakeholder-rich environment.
* Demonstrated experience in managing projects and programs across all phases, with strong capability in cost control, scheduling, risk management, and change control to ensure the successful delivery.
* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline, or significant industry experience that demonstrates a high level of technical and project delivery capability.
* A strong background in managing infrastructure projects or programs, with a clear understanding of the associated challenges, regulatory frameworks, and operational requirements.
* Demonstrated ability to identify, define, and agree on project outcomes with diverse stakeholders in often complex and dynamic situations.
* Experience in leading and developing multi-disciplinary teams with a focus on fostering a constructive and high-performance culture aligned to organisational values.
* Proven ability to identify critical project objectives, constraints, and risks, and to develop and implement practical delivery strategies that address these factors to achieve project success.
