ACCIONA Agua is progressing several major water infrastructure tenders across Australia, including large‐scale desalination and drinking‐water treatment facilities, complex electromechanical systems, and long‐term water‐security projects. These works form part of ACCIONA's growing national pipeline and represent key opportunities to shape future water infrastructure delivery.

As part of this growth, we are seeking a Senior Estimator with demonstrated multidisciplinary experience, strong technical capability, and deep knowledge across mechanical and electrical disciplines to support high‐quality cost estimating from the tender stage through to project delivery. This position can be based in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.
You will work closely with engineering, commercial, procurement and leadership teams, providing accurate and competitive cost estimates that shape major bid outcomes and support project execution.
What are the key accountabilities for the position?
* Develop accurate, competitive cost estimates for large‐scale desalination and water treatment projects
* Lead detailed quantity take‐offs and robust cost forecasting
* Manage multiple bids simultaneously, acting as the key interface with senior leadership
* Coordinate estimates across mechanical, electrical, civil and subcontracted scopes
* Review and refine estimates based on project requirements and client feedback
* Participate in pre‐ and post‐bid meetings, ensuring full compliance with client and regulatory standards
Collaboration & Delivery Readiness
* Partner with internal teams and key subcontractors to obtain pricing for labour, materials and specialist equipment
* Maintain and enhance historical cost databases and utilise internal estimating systems
* Ensure seamless knowledge transfer to delivery teams once projects are awarded
Leadership & Development
* Mentor and support junior estimators, encouraging technical excellence and consistency
* Contribute to the development of estimating standards and best practices across the business
Planning & Quality Control
* Develop and maintain company‐wide estimating methodologies and governance
* Ensure estimating tools align with industry best practice
* Collaborate closely with Quality Management to maintain strong compliance and control standards
Required Skills and Competencies
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
* Minimum 7+ years' experience estimating on major water infrastructure projects
* Demonstrated multidisciplinary experience with strong technical capability and deep knowledge across mechanical and electrical disciplines
* Proven ability to produce accurate cost estimates for treatment plants, desalination facilities, pipelines or pump stations
