Guided by our Christian ethos and the principles of Catholic Social Justice, we are committed to inclusive service delivery and proudly welcome employees and clients of all religions, backgrounds, and beliefs.Primary ObjectiveAs a member of the Community Care Yard Maintenance Team, Yard Maintenance Field Officers are responsible for:Undertake yard maintenance tasks such as mowing, whipper snipping, pruning, weed spraying & green waste removal in accordance with service agreements and relevant program funding requirements;Support client's independence by ensuring outdoor areas remain safe and functional for daily use;Identify & report hazards, damage, and need for professional servicing or maintenance concerns to relevant line manager and enter into risk management system;Communicate professionally with clients to ensure services are respectful, culturally appropriate and responsive to their needs;Maintain tools and equipment in safe working conditions and operate them in line with workplace health and safety protocols;Carry out simple preventative maintenance to extend the life and efficiency of yard equipment.
Perform minor adjustments or simple repairs where safe and appropriate (e.g. replace spark plugs, clean filters, put oil in equipment and ensure all records of maintenance checks are completed as per procedure; andProviding appropriate information and referral to clients and senior program staff to meet client needs and to ensure the ongoing financial viability of the program;Providing clients with information about program services and eligibility;Qualifications and Experience RequiredRelevant horticulture qualifications and/or extensive experience in a similar roleFirst Aid/CPR including Snake Bite TrainingCurrent C class Driver's license (QLD)Core CompetenciesDemonstrated ability to use professional mowing, trimming, and pruning equipment;Demonstrated commitment to safety and follow established safety procedures and ensure the safety of self, clients, colleagues and the public at all times;High level of precision and attention to detail;High level of professional communications skills with internal and external stakeholders;Sound time management and task prioritisation skills; andUnderstanding of basic computing concepts.Other RequirementsGood physical fitness and capacity to perform manual handling and physically demanding repetitive tasksThe successful candidate will also be required to demonstrate entitlement to work in Australia, and to disclose any pre-existing injury or disease which may be adversely affected by undertaking the inherent requirements of the position.This position requires the completion of an Australian Federal Police check, an NDIS disability worker screening check, and attainment of a Blue Card for working with children, prior to commencement.What to Do NextTo apply for this position, please submit the following documents:Your current resumeA cover letter clearly addressing the requirements of the roleApplication QuestionsDo you hold a current Qld Drivers Licence?
