Purpose of the Role
BGIS is seeking an experienced HVAC Team Leader to support building services operations within a large and busy healthcare campus on the Gold Coast.
Reporting directly to the Site Facilities leadership team, you will work closely with both BGIS and client stakeholders to coordinate HVAC maintenance activities, support service delivery outcomes, and guide a small team of skilled technicians.
This role combines hands-on technical work with team coordination, mentoring apprentices, troubleshooting system issues, and ensuring HVAC services across the site operate safely and efficiently.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, solving technical problems, and helping a team deliver reliable building services in a high-performing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Support daily HVAC maintenance and building services across the site
* Guide and mentor technicians and apprentices while supporting a positive team culture
* Coordinate quoting, small works, and installation activities
* Assist with troubleshooting HVAC plant, equipment, and BMS-related issues
* Conduct inspections, toolbox talks, and safety checks
* Support reporting, timesheet reviews, and service documentation
* Work closely with contractors, suppliers, and site stakeholders to maintain service delivery standards
* Assist with emergency callouts and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
Education, Experience & Skills
Essential:
* HVAC Trade Qualification
* ARCtick / Refrigerant Handling Licence
* Valid driver's licence
* Experience working in HVAC maintenance or building services environments
* Experience guiding or supporting technicians or apprentices
* Good communication and organisation skills
* Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications and service systems
Desirable:
* QBCC licence (where applicable)
* Experience using IWMS / CMMS maintenance systems
* Experience coordinating quoting, minor works, or installations
* Experience working in large facilities or healthcare environments

This role is fully site-based in Southport on the Gold Coast, supporting building services within a major healthcare campus.
The site has direct access to public transport, making commuting convenient.
