We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager Safety to join the national Safety leadership team.
Based in regional North Queensland, with responsibility across a small number of operational and processing sites across Queensland and New South Wales.
This is a senior, influential role suited to a safety leader who thrives in operational, seasonal environments and enjoys partnering closely with leaders to drive meaningful, sustainable change.
The opportunity
Reporting to the General Manager Safety, you will lead a team of five direct reports and provide strategic and practical safety leadership across multiple sites with differing operational profiles and seasonal demands.
The business is currently on a defined safety journey, with strong ELT sponsorship, clear direction and ongoing investment, including the rollout of DuPont methodologies to support cultural maturity and capability uplift. You will play a key role in shaping how safety is led, owned and embedded across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
* Lead, coach and develop a high performing regional Safety team
* Partner with operational and site leaders to strengthen safety capability and accountability
* Drive implementation of safety initiatives aligned to the Safety Management System
* Support sites through seasonal operational peaks while maintaining safety standards
* Provide oversight of risk management, incident investigation, audit and continuous improvement activities
* Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, translating data and insights into practical actions
About you
You are a seasoned safety leader with experience in complex, operational or FMCG environments. You bring credibility, commercial awareness and the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
You will bring:
* Proven leadership experience with direct reports in a multi-site environment
* A pragmatic, coaching-led approach to safety leadership
* Experience supporting operational teams through seasonal or high-risk periods
* Confidence working with senior leaders and leading cultural change
* Formal qualifications in Health and Safety, with auditing and training credentials desirable
