Accountant
We are looking for an Accountant to join our team at the Palmer Coolum Resort to help manage the Finance function and prepare the resort for re-opening to guests in 2026.
The main responsibilities of the role will include the below:
* Day to day coordination and management of resort finances including Banking, accounts payable, Stock Control & Point of Sale Set Up and Management with an emphasis on accuracy and compliance
* Preparation and submission periodic BAS, Payroll tax, PAYG and Work Cover lodgements
* Preparation of weekly & monthly management reports, variance analysis, performance metrics and annual budgets
* Management of fixed assets, journals, and depreciation schedules
* Liaising with internal and external stakeholders and auditors as required by the business
* Implementing all necessary controls in order to safeguard the assets of the resort and to maintain records for fixed assets, operating equipment, supplies and inventories
* Support the finance team in the development and implementation of internal controls and coordinate process improvements to increase efficiency
* Other duties assisting with ad hoc projects as required
High attention to details and the ability to prioritise high volume of tasks
Excellent interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and relationship management
Highly motivated, solutions-oriented self-starter with adaptable teamwork style
Proven experience managing payroll and expenditure cycle
Inventory management and control
Requirements
Accounting, Business or Commerce degrees preferable
2+ years' experience in a similar role
A willingness to use initiative and strong problem solving skills
Highly desirable for previous resort accountancy work or part of resort opening team.
