About The Role
Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital formed in ****. As a Ward Clerk (Administrative Officer Level 2) you will provide, develop and maintain optimal operational support within the Emergency Department. Your duties include assisting with the clerical component of the nursing admission, answering phones, filing patient documents, computer data entry, answering patient enquiries, paging doctors as required and collecting medical records.
Responsibilities
Assist with the clerical component of nursing admission.
Answer phones and file patient documents.
Enter data into computer systems.
Respond to patient enquiries.
Page doctors as required and collect medical records.
Ideal Candidate
Demonstrated administrative and clerical support skills, including use of varied computer packages and the ability to acquire new skills.
Strong communication skills, courtesy, tact, diplomacy and confidentiality.
Thorough working knowledge of medical terminology, or the ability to quickly acquire such knowledge.
Ability to work autonomously, utilise discretion, meet deadlines, prioritise and work efficiently as a team member.
