The Coffs Harbour Bypass is a 14-kilometre stretch of road that will bypass of the Coffs Harbour urban area, from England's Road in the South to Sapphire in the North and is a once-in-a-generation project for the Mid-North Coast community.
Ferrovial and Gamuda (FGJV) are the proud Design and Construct joint venture delivery partners of the Coffs Harbour Bypass – a significant, unique and exceptional major infrastructure project that will leave a legacy of innovation and sustainability in the region for communities of today and tomorrow.
FGJV is seeking a motivated Site Engineer to join our team and contribute to the smooth delivery of day‑to‑day site operations. In this role, you'll work closely with the Project Engineer, Site Supervisor and subcontractors, with a strong focus on helping drive the project through to successful completion.
Responsibilities of the role:
* Proactively maintain an understanding of project management plans and associated variations to the scope of works.
* Ensure all quality, environmental, and safety aspects of the scope of works are addressed, supporting effective operations and successful delivery, while initiating corrective actions to resolve any non‑conformances.
* Daily tracking of construction progress and costs associated with scope of work to allow identification of corrective measures when required.
* Arrange inspection and testing maintaining quality records to ensure compliance with the project specifications.
* Prepare of Work Procedures, Inspection & Test Plans, Safe Work Method Statements, Construction Procedures and Site Access Plans.
* Manage and ensure daily work activities are undertaken in accordance with all permits, approvals, design drawings specifications and work management plans.
* Assist in the procurement of project materials and letting of subcontracts.
* Assist the site supervisors to manage and coordinate the construction works with subcontractors by consistent and visible site presence to ensure effective teamwork.
* Attend pre-start and toolbox meetings in order to discuss site operations, environmental issues, quality control as well as health & safety culture.
* Coordinate any interface works with other teams - e.g. Traffic, Pavements and structural works to ensure smooth interfaces.
Required Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor of Engineering, major in Civil and/or Structural.
* Proven ability with cost / production tracking by providing input into work programs and performance of subcontractors.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong client-focus and ability to work proactively with all types of stakeholders
* Proactive and innovative approach.
