Job Description:

This role requires a professional to lead high-performance teams in developing and managing Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) project programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting functional leads in ensuring requirements are properly integrated and overseeing overall project ES&H execution.


Key Responsibilities:

* Execute the safety component of a health and safety program, inclusive of technical and administrative aspects, for assigned areas.
* Draft and implement Safety and Health Management Plans, associated plans and procedures, and training programs.
* Provide input to Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Subcontracts, Commissioning, and other groups involving significant safety and health issues, risks, and techniques to reduce adverse impacts on the project.
* Research complex issues and regulatory requirements, perform studies and risk assessments, and prepare documentation and reports.
* Supervise an Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) program on a project, inclusive of technical and administrative aspects, compliance activities, and processes and plans.
* Supervise ESH personnel and facilitate their development through assignments, coaching, and mentoring.
* Ensure that ESH requirements are properly interpreted and integrated in planning documents, design criteria, construction and operational plans, schedules, training programs, and documents.
* Apply ESH Management System and standards to achieve, maintain, and continually improve EHS program execution.
* Conduct assessments and inspections, and participate in audits, to confirm ESH compliance with contractual commitments, laws and regulations, environmental permit requirements, and standards.


Requirements:

* A Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, Engineering, or a related field (or international equivalent) related to environmental, safety, health or science-related discipline and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
* White Card – mandatory for all construction sites
* Lead Auditor certification is highly regarded
* Knowledge of CASA regulations and Drug and Alcohol Management Plans (DAMPs) is essential
* ICAM or TapRoot Certificate preferred.


Required Skills:

* 5–10+ years in Work Health and Safety (WHS), with at least 3+ years in a construction safety leadership role
* Proven experience managing high-risk construction activities such as: Working at heights Confined spaces Crane operations and airspace protection Hot works and demolition Experience coordinating with multiple contractors, authorities, and regulatory bodies
