You will accumulate and assimilate relevant information to establish accurate costings and estimates for projects and tenders; maintain effective liaison with Sales and Production to establish accurate costs for the manufacture and delivery of Made-to-order products and make appropriate decisions with regard to the establishment of accurate cost estimates in accordance with Holcim Australia rules and guidelines.You will also have some client facing/ customer service related responsibilities.Detailed accountabilities are found in the PD which is available upon request and will include:Ensuring compliance with all relevant safety, health and environment legislation.Developing cost estimates for Made-To-Order items in preparation of formal tendersEnsuring the assessment of costs for all project activitiesPreparing detailed costings for all items offered for sale by the company by first principles.Holding responsibility for maintaining and improving the current costing systems used by the company.Coordination of all project and job costing with sourcing and logistics to ensure product availability and that the correct costs are used in establishing our cost position.Timely input to tenders and quotes.Proactively following up clients.Compatibility with current production schedules and capacities has been assessed.About YouTo be successful in this role you will have:Qualifications in or a sound understanding of civil engineering principles.Credible experience in QS and Estimating in a similar role (preferred)Experience within the Concrete, Aggregates, Construction, Building Materials, or related sectors will be an advantage.Ability to read and price off drawings.A good understanding of the cost drivers of a business.Strong interpersonal / communication skills.Project management experience.A self-motivated and outcomes-orientated attitude with a passionate ‘can do' mind set.Effective skills at managing key stakeholder relationships.A strong team player with strong interpersonal and communication skillsA well-developed understanding of the importance of and ability to effectively communicate and build relationships both externally and within the business.Proficiency in Word, Excel, and other systems required to do the role effectively.This is an outstanding opportunity to join our high performing team and to contribute to our world leading business.Why Holcim?At Holcim we offer an inclusive environment, where our people feel comfortable bringing their authentic self to work.
