This is a new role as the lead tutor and co-ordinator for our Social Circus programmes. (£30,000 p/a, 16hrs per week, £13,700 pro rata. 12 month contract from 14th July 2025)Think Circus SCIO are looking for a part-time Social Circus Programme Lead (SCPL) to join our team. This is a new role, created to strengthen our outreach and education projects. We are looking for someone who is interested in improving the quality of circus teaching in Edinburgh, who can bring dedication, care and enthusiasm for this work.Think Circus are based in Leith, Edinburgh, and currently deliver 3 regular youth classes (ages 5-16), free discover circus sessions for families and adults, and workshops for schools, local organisations and community events across the central belt. Our mission is to take circus beyond the big top, to improve lives. The SCPL role will be the main contact for our social circus programme, which includes:• Weekly youth circus classes for ages 5-11• Teen Circus club for ages 12-16• Occasional skill development sessions for staff, freelancers and volunteers• Partnerships with local charities and organisationsThe SCPL will oversee these classes and projects, including selecting staff, booking in tutors and leading classes. They will be supported in running classes by our freelance tutors and volunteers, and line managed by the Executive Director. Class bookings are made via our website and Monday.com management system. This role is primarily based on weekdays, with our regular classes currently taking place on Tuesday and Friday afternoons during term time. The expectation is that both Think Circus and the SCPL will be flexible within reason and agree working dates in advance.The tasks of the SCPL will include:• Delivering, planning and booking teaching staff for weekly youth circus classes, which support the development of participants in manipulation, basic acrobatics and physical literacy• Teaching one-off workshops for local organisations in basic ground-based circus skills (such as hula hoop, juggling, plate spinning, balancing, diabolo etc.)• Leading occasional development sessions with Think Circus staff and freelancers (such as sharing best practice in teaching circus skills, skill shares, creative exercises and discussions).• Designing class curricula (along with input from other Think Circus team members) and designing/planning social circus projects (with support from the Executive Director)• Making new connections with organisations and individuals who we can collaborate with, and share curriculum development / circus teaching practiceThe deadline is Monday 16 June 2025 at 12:00.TAGGED:Dance / Theatre / Young People (aged 0 to 25)
