About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Design / Drafter Lead, who is willing & able to take ownership of projects from concept through to completion.
This role can be based in either our Sydney or Goulburn office, preferably in Goulburn, as initial training will be based at the Goulburn site for the first three months to ensure the best understanding of our products, systems, and processes.
The successful applicant will be expected to lead by example, producing and reviewing high-quality drawings whilst overseeing and guiding other designers.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and deliver design projects end-to-end
* Produce, review, and approve detailed drawings and models
* Lead, mentor, and coordinate the drafting and design team
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders including production and project teams
* Ensure designs meet project, client, and compliance requirements
* Maintain drawing standards, processes, and best practices
* Contribute to continuous improvement of design workflows
About You
You will bring solid design management experience, preferably with a background in construction or steel fabrication. You will be able to demonstrate a hands-on and professional leadership capability, in addition to a passion for quality and precision.
You will display a strong sense of responsibility & prove you are comfortable owning projects, making decisions, and supporting others to deliver their best work.
This role demands a proactive leader who can inspire and drive the team to achieve business goals.
Key requirements include:
* Proven experience in a senior drafting or design role
* Strong leadership and project ownership skills
* Solid hands-on CAD experience
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or BricsCAD
* Experience with 3D modelling and BIM
* Knowledge of Revit / Autodesk software
* Strong attention to detail and communication skills
