As a result of expanding scope of works within UGL’s portfolio, we are seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our Operations & Maintenance team at the Darwin RAAF Base in NT.
This would be an exciting and unique opportunity to work in the Australia Defence environment to support the national security requirements of the Nation.

The Role
Reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be based in Darwin, supporting surrounding locations with occasional regional travel. You will be a part of a core crew of UGL technicians. These duties will include, but not limited to:
- Perform scheduled maintenance and service of fuel installation assets and equipment
- Diagnostics and repair in a breakdown environment of fuel related assets and equipment
- Project work as required on the fuel installation and related assets and equipment
- Support subcontracted work packages as required
- Support various sites in the region, with occasional requirement to travel to various sites throughout NT
Recent Rates as of 1st July 2025
- Level 1 – $47.07 plus Super & Tool Allowance ($36.43 Weekly)
- Level 2 – $50.67 plus Super & Tool Allowance ($36.43 Weekly)
- Level 3 (Dual Trade) – $54.28 plus Super & Tool Allowance ($36.43 Weekly)
What you Need
- Trade qualified (mechanical) with relevant post-trade experience
- Proven experience working in fixed plant maintenance, ideally fuel services or Oil & Gas.
- Experience working within the defence fuels network or defence industry will be highly regarded
- Confined space and working at heights tickets will be highly regarded
- Safety is at the forefront of everything you do!
- Currently hold, or ability to obtain appropriate Defence Security Clearance
