About the Role
As a Demi Chef, you will play an important role in the daily operations of the kitchen by:
* Preparing, cooking and presenting high-quality dishes for In Room Dining and Breakfast service
* Assisting in the development of creative menus and new dishes
* Ensuring all food is prepared and presented in line with Shangri-La Sydney standards and procedures
* Supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen and maintaining quality across all service periods
* Monitoring kitchen equipment and reporting repair or maintenance requirements to the Chef de Partie
* Maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety and hygiene
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* Certificate in Commercial Cookery
* Full Australian working rights
* Previous experience within a hotel, restaurant or similar fast-paced kitchen environment
* A genuine passion for food, presentation and guest experience
* Strong teamwork skills with a positive and professional attitude
* The ability to thrive in a busy service environment
