The Role

Cockburn Cement is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Maintenance Lead to oversee all maintenance activities at our Dongara site, including kiln, mining areas, and site facilities.

This permanent, full-time role will supervise mechanical, electrical, and contractor teams, driving proactive maintenance strategies to optimise equipment reliability and performance. As Statutory Supervisor, you will ensure safe work practices, compliance with regulatory and Adbri standards, and deliver continuous improvement initiatives.

Preference will be given to candidates based in Dongara or surrounding areas. Applicants from outside the region can apply, with a commitment to a self-funded relocation withing 3 months. This is not DIDO or FIFO role

Responsibilities

* Lead and supervise maintenance teams to deliver safe, efficient and reliable operations across the Dongara site.
* Develop, implement, and execute maintenance programs, shutdowns, and unplanned work remediation.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and statutory requirements.
* Manage contractor performance and relationships, acting as key interface between contractors and operations.
* Collaborate with planning teams to prioritise work, allocate resources, and support production targets.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.
* Contribute to maintenance budget planning, monitoring, and control.
* Build a high-performing maintenance team through training, development, and performance management.

What you need to succeed

* Tertiary qualifications or trade certification in a relevant discipline (e.g. electrical, reliability engineering).
* Minimum 5 years' supervisory experience in heavy industry or mining environments.
* Statutory Supervisor Certificate of Competency (essential).
* A-grade electrical licence and High Voltage Switching Certificate (desirable).
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop teams.
* Strong computer literacy, including SAP and MS Office.
* Proven risk management capability and commitment to safety excellence.
* Ability to collaborate across departments and build strong stakeholder relationships.
