Job Description:
Scope is a not-for-profit organization that supports people with complex intellectual, physical, and multiple disabilities. We are looking for a skilled and resilient support worker to join our team in Tamworth.
The successful candidate will work in an independent living model, supporting adults with complex mental health and psychosocial disabilities. They will rigorously follow BIS and care support plans as directed by clinical teams and site managers to best support complex behaviors.
The role involves encouraging capacity building to enhance clients' current skills, such as hygiene, safe relationships, domestic duties, using public transport, and accessing the community safely. The support worker will also provide personal care with dignity and respect for one client when required.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting adults with complex mental health and psychosocial disabilities in an independent living model
* Rigorously following BIS and care support plans as directed by clinical teams and site managers
* Encouraging capacity building to enhance clients' current skills
* Providing personal care with dignity and respect for one client when required
* Promoting choice and control and participating in clients' day-to-day routines, goals, and interests
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Regular access to your own car and a P2 NSW Driver's License or higher
* Flexible availability across a 24/7 roster, including mornings, afternoons, active/sleepover nights
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues
* Effective empowerment and inspiration skills to adopt positive habits, routines, and personal interests
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment
