Overview
Our client supplies Construction Companies with Structural Steel from stocked items (Angle Iron, RHS and SHS) and can Custom Fabricate to client specifications (T-Bars, H Beams / Universal Beams and Corner Angles).
The Role
Our client is not necessarily looking for a candidate who can carry out all job functions immediately; they are happy to train the responsibilities.
Internal Sales Officer responsibilities
* Manage inbound sales enquiries via phone or email and create detailed quotations or sales orders.
* Be the main point of contact for clients, providing updates on completion dates, delivery dates or order modifications.
* This role does not involve cold calling or new business development and focuses on high levels of customer service and accurate order processing.
* Interpret and manipulate Architectural & Structural Plans to calculate required components, including:
* Identify structural steel components in architectural plans
* Use CAD software to drag out each structural steel component and input data
* From the dragged items, identify the required steel products (Angle Iron, RHS, SQS, T-Bars, Universal Beams or Corner Angles)
* Calculate the quantity of each steel product
* Use CAD software to calculate measurements/dimensions for each product
* From a pricing list, calculate the charge for each product
* Create a quote or sales order that includes itemized products & costs
* Email the quote or sales order to clients with delivery estimates
* Other responsibilities include:
* Taking inbound calls from new and existing customers
* Monitoring inbound emails for new orders or client requests
* Providing product information and pricing via phone or email
* Liaising with internal team members for client requests such as estimated completion dates
* Updating clients regularly on progress and estimated delivery dates of orders
* Following up with clients on submitted quotes
* Continually learning and maintaining product knowledge
* Maintaining accurate customer and order records
* Ad hoc administration
* Working Days: Monday - Friday
* Working Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
The Candidate
Our client is not necessarily looking for a candidate who can carry out all job functions immediately and is happy to train someone in the responsibilities. Candidates with a good working knowledge of the construction industry or Architectural/Building plans and a desire to progress their career are encouraged to apply.
* At least 2 years administration experience; roles such as:
* Internal Sales Officer with experience in creating detailed quotes and estimates
* Invoicing Clerk
* Technical Customer Service
* Entry Level Architectural Drafter
* Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
* Ability to learn and navigate internal computer & software systems
* Personality attributes include:
* Highly organized with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
* Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
* Ability to liaise with internal staff and customers
* Team player who contributes to a shared goal
* Positive and collaborative
Remuneration
This is a permanent role where you will be employed directly by our client. The salary includes:
* + Superannuation
