NBMLHD Community Mental Health offer a range of specialised services for children, young people, families and older people, through our community-based services and health centres. Our multidisciplinary health professionals and case managers take a collaborative approach to mental health care by linking with their patients to work together and consult within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.
Our Lithgow Mental Health team is seeking to engage a qualified Social Worker. The position provides comprehensive clinical Social Work services to people with a mental illness or a mental disorder. The service provided aims to be least intrusive, collaborative, trauma informed, recovery oriented including one that is family responsive with evidence-based practice interventions in order to encourage self-advocacy, facilitates empowerment, and capacity for optimal independent functioning in the community.

**What you will bring to the role**:
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work with post graduate experience in mental health and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Demonstrated skills in mental health Social Work assessments and social and clinical interventions and demonstrated experience working with people with mental illness.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate meaningfully with consumers and carers with a commitment and understanding of trauma informed care and recovery principles in mental health service provision.
- Demonstrated understanding of culturally sensitive practice and commitment to Aboriginal mental health and wellbeing principles and practice improvement.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and good interpersonal skills.
- Computer competence and literacy.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of NSW Mental Health Act, 2007
- Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel. Ability to travel within the LHD in accordance with the position
