The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts is currently completing the procurement process for a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform to replace its current SAP ECC6 environment. With an anticipated commencement date of August, the department will commence a multi-year, department wide transformation program to implement a new ERP platform covering Finance, HR, Procurement and Travel & Expense.

The Enterprise Resourcing Planning Branch (ERPB) is seeking to engage a Program Manager to support the commencement of a large-scale enterprise transformation program implementing a new ERP platform across the organisation.

This capability will play a critical part in driving and maintaining an integrated delivery schedule and ensuring alignment with program objectives, timelines and governance requirements.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in leading and managing large scale ERP implementation projects, leading cross functional teams, identifying and resolving impediments and be fully competent in delivering projects throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

* Lead and coordinate program delivery activities to support the achievement of the department's desired outcomes.
* Develop, maintain, monitor and report with program management artefacts such as a roadmap, integrated program management plan, status of the deliverables, milestones, dependencies, resources, budget, risks and issues.
* Oversee day-to-day project activities, ensuring progress aligns with the project plan.
* Engage and collaborate with business stakeholders and suppliers as required to deliver a well-defined and understood solution.
* Build strong relationships and partner with the Senior Responsible Officer (SRO), system integrator, change manager, technology, and senior executives within the Program Board.
* Report to and will support the SRO in delivering the ERP implementation project.
* Be accountable for ensuring that the contract with the system integrator is executed in accordance with the terms and conditions agreed by the department, including scope, deliverables, performance obligations, and governance requirements.
* Undertake detailed risk analysis and actively manage the program's key risks and issues, including establishing mitigation strategies, contingency plans, ownership and due dates, conducting regular risk reviews, and escalating material risks to the ERP Program Board through established governance processes.
* Manage the development of the required artefacts for the project in line with department's governance and assurance frameworks.
* Engage and collaborate with other project streams to manage interdependencies, cross share capability and capacity, and ensure delivery of value-add, integrated solution.
* Take responsibility for project progress and use of resources and initiate corrective action where necessary, foreshadowing upcoming resource needs and actioning engagement well ahead of start dates.
* Provide reports and attend ERP Program Board and Committee meetings (once formal governance structure is formed) with leadership.
* Be the primary liaison to the SI, monitoring progress against contracted deliverables, supporting acceptance processes and escalating issues of performance or scope in accordance with the program's governance and contracted framework.
* Develop project closure artefacts including lessons learned and operational transition activities.
* Be directed to assist with other work in relation to other streams within the ERP Branch.

Essential Criteria

* The candidates demonstrated experience providing ERP program management, similar to those sought through the Key duties and responsibilities above in other previous roles.
* The candidates past performance providing program management capabilities for large-scale ERP implementations (please state product names) in multi-vendor and multi-stakeholder environments.

Desirable Criteria

* Program Management qualifications such as Prince2 or Managing Successful Programmes (MSP)
