Research Development Partnership Specialist
We are seeking a skilled Research Development Partnership Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our research and innovation services team, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and advancing research priorities, fostering opportunities, and supporting researchers across disciplines to grow our research performance and external engagement.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Engaging with researchers to understand their priorities and implementing innovative strategies to progress opportunities
* Crafting research pathways through engaging with potential external partners and articulating the research strengths of the college and wider university
* SUPPORTING researchers by identifying potential research partners and facilitating/negotiating collaborative opportunities
* Providing expert strategic and practical advice to support the progress of college research priorities
* Representing the research office and providing advice to inform due diligence processes for research-related activities
* Coordinating the flow of research opportunity information, particularly for cross-disciplinary and large partnership projects
* Delivering reports, partnership insights, and facilitating workshops that enhance research capability and outcomes
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience informing an understanding of research projects
* Practical research knowledge and experience in a discipline relevant to the College of Science and Engineering (earth and environmental science, engineering, information technology, marine biology, aquaculture, zoology, ecology and/or physical sciences)
* Proven ability to identify institutional capabilities and align them with external partnership opportunities
* Exceptional ability to engage with industry and community, building relationships and opening up potential opportunities for collaboration
* Strong critical thinking, attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage shifting priorities, along with multiple internal and external relationships
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with academic, industry, and government stakeholders
* Willingness to travel to conferences or to meet industry partners on an infrequent basis off campus
