Overview
The Adolescent Mental Health Unit is seeking a dedicated Clinical Psychologist to provide targeted clinical intervention to young people aged 13 to 17 years experiencing significant mental health issues, along with their support networks (families, schools, and external stakeholders). As an integral member of the inpatient psychology team, the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work across the acute mental health units across Campbelltown Hospital as needed. You will provide 1:1 psychological intervention, run group programs, and behavioural management support.
Responsibilities
* To deliver targeted psychological and psychosocial assessment for diagnosis, interventions and consultation in order to address the needs of consumers who are living with complex mental health problems and disorders.
* The successful applicant will also participate in the evaluation of clinical outcomes of services and assists in the development and provision of education and training programs.
* The successful applicant supervises Psychologists and other disciplines working within the LHD, according to organisational needs and if appropriate to the psychologists' stage of professional development.
* Work with an enthusiastic team of health professionals which includes nurses, psychiatric registrars, consultant psychiatrists, social workers, occupational therapists, and diversional therapists.
* The Clinical Psychologist will also receive support, peer consultation, and supervision with other psychologists working in the district.

Qualifications
* Full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia with Endorsement in Clinical or Forensic Psychology (or eligibility to progress to same), along with a minimum two year Full Time equivalent APAC accredited postgraduate Clinical Psychology or Forensic Psychology qualification.
* Demonstrated experience in psychosocial and psychometric assessment including cognitive assessment and assessment of psychopathology.
* Demonstrated experience in a wide range of evidence-based psychological treatments for people experiencing acute/complex mental health issues, delivered on an individual and/or group basis.
* Demonstrated experience working independently in the provision of patient/consumer-focused care.
* Demonstrated knowledge of the quality improvement process for service development, implementation and evaluation.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient and/or consumer care and outcomes.
* Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the target audience.
* Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver\'s license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner\'s licenses are not permitted.
