About the Opportunity
RACV is currently seeking an experienced, proactive and energetic individual with a can-do attitude to join their Kitchen brigade on a casual basis.
In the role, you'll report to the Head Chef while being supported by senior members of our kitchen brigade. You'll display a passion for all things food and cooking related with a flair for creating dishes made from local ingredients. The role will allow you to work across our restaurant, bar, conference & events and room service.
As a Commis Chef you'll be responsible for assisting in the effective operation of the kitchen across a variety of sections. You'll be working within a highly dedicated team focused on quality and consistency.
Within the hotel we have two culinary offerings on site;
Charcoal Restaurant
is open for breakfast & dinner, showcasing local wineries, local produce & quality seafood
Cascade on Collins Bar
is the new city hot spot for drinks, food and great atmosphere in the historical Cascade building
You'll be rostered to meet the peak and flow of business demands, shifts will vary across a 7 day rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

What you'll need to be successful
Commercial Cookery Qualification – Cert III or IV
A passion for locally sourced and seasonal produce
A desire to develop among a driven & professional team
Ability to work autonomously on a section or within a fast-paced team
Exposure to stock-taking, wastage control, menu development and costings'
