The Opportunity
We are looking for a driven, multi‐skilled Journalist to join our 7News Regional newsroom in Rockhampton.
Reporting to the Supervising Producer and based in Rockhampton, the successful applicant will source, write and deliver broadcast news for the vital Rockhampton, QLD news market.
What you'll do
* Generate original daily story ideas for on‐air presentations.
* Interview, write and voice news stories.
* Develop and maintain contacts in the community.
* Research and prepare news reports.
* Create effective and respectful rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
What you'll bring
You are a talented Journalist and a motivated self‐starter who can effectively maintain high levels of personal organisation and time management practices. You possess a creative mindset with energy, enthusiasm and a strong knowledge base in journalism.
* Proven experience writing news stories.
* Tertiary qualification in journalism or communications.
* Exceptional communication and written skills.
* Ability to work to very tight/precise deadlines.
* Understanding of Broadcast Law Guidelines.
