About Us

Located in South Bowenfels, the Lithgow Campus is considered as a comprehensive community health centre supporting approximately 20,000 people living in the town and surrounding areas. The services available in Lithgow hospital include Domiciliary care unit, Emergency department, Geriatric assessment unit, Obstetric services, Paediatric service, Drug and Alcohol unit.

Lithgow Hospital is seeking a committed and skilled Speech Pathologist to deliver clinical services in alignment with Speech Pathology Australia's Code of Ethics. In this role, you will manage an assigned caseload, maintain high professional standards through supervision and ongoing education, and contribute to the development of junior staff and students. You will ensure equitable and culturally sensitive access to services, and implement evidence-based interventions for communication and swallowing disorders using a variety of service delivery models.

What You Will Bring To The Role

* Tertiary Degree in Speech Pathology (or equivalent) with eligibility for practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
* Demonstrated experience in providing paediatric assessment and intervention across a range of communication disorders and settings.
* Demonstrated experience and ability to work effectively with clients and families with diverse psychosocial and socioeconomic backgrounds.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills, with a high degree of computer literacy.
* Current drivers licence and willingness to use for work purposes.

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
