About Dandelion House

* Dandelion House is an accredited NDIS Disability Service Provider, operating in Newcastle, Maitland, and Dubbo regions. We provide support independent living (SIL) style accommodation to people with a disability. We pride ourselves on our ability to provide the best quality service, in a person-centred way, tailored to meet the needs of our Participants.

About this Role

* We are looking for passionate and resilient people to join our team and help support our clients to build their social and independent living skills.
* This role will be situated in Dubbo, working across a 24/7 roster which could include mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities

* Work collaboratively within a team.
* Demonstrate person centred care principles.
* Managing emotions and challenging behaviours.
* Administrative duties i.e., shifts notes and reports.
* Provide direct care and support to people with a disability with all activities of daily living which may include domestic duties, personal care, social support, medication assistance, manual handling, transport, meals and attending appointments.
* Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with all key stakeholders; clients, families, guardians, and involved services.

Essential Criteria

* Current driver's license and reliable vehicle.
* Current first aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).
* Current NDIS worker check (or willingness to obtain).
* Current Working With Children's Check (or willingness to obtain).
* Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
* Must be able to work sleepover shifts.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong computer skills.

Desired Criteria:

* Relevant industry qualification.
* Experience working in the community services sector.
* Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with mental health, complex needs, and challenging behaviours.
