AIC Mines is listed on the ASX under the code A1M.About the RoleThe Project Superintendent will play a pivotal leadership role in managing the engineering function for the Jericho underground development.
Reporting to the Mine Manager, you will oversee the planning, design, and execution of key mine infrastructure and operational readiness projects.
The first year will focus heavily on project delivery, with a transition into an ongoing operational leadership role managing the engineering team and driving continuous improvement.
You will also serve as the alternate Underground Manager as required.Key ResponsibilitiesLead short- and mid-term mine planning for the Jericho mine development.Manage contractor performance with a focus on rapid development delivery and performance.Oversee mine design, scheduling, and budgeting to align with quarterly forecasts.Deliver key project elements including ventilation, shaft excavation, and pumping infrastructure.Ensure engineering designs meet statutory safety and compliance standards.Collaborate with the environment and other support teams to ensure ongoing compliance.Drive cost control and maximise value from project and departmental budgets.Continuously improve engineering systems, productivity, and processes.Maintain robust contractor and stakeholder engagement across departments.Champion a proactive safety and risk management approach and culture.Roster and LocationThis position is offered on a FIFO (8:6 roster) basis from Cairns, Townsville, or Brisbane, or DIDO from Cloncurry/Mount Isa.
Onsite accommodation is provided at Eloise Copper Mine.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.Proven leadership experience in underground metalliferous mining.Strong technical knowledge in mine planning, ventilation design, and mining methods.Demonstrated success managing engineering teams and complex projects.Solid financial acumen including budgeting and cost management.Experience working with and managing contractors.Proficiency in Deswik and the Microsoft Office Suite.Eligibility (or working towards eligibility) to act as an Underground Manager under QLD Mining Regulations.Next StepsClick APPLY to submit your application.
