The Role
We are seeking an experienced Civil Drafter with 3-5 years of relevant experience to join our growing Townsville office. In this role, you will work closely with our engineering team to produce high-quality detailed drawings for a diverse range of civil infrastructure projects throughout North Queensland.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings including site plans, road designs, drainage plans, sewer layouts, and water reticulation using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
2. Interpret engineering designs, specifications, and survey data to create accurate technical drawings.
3. Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, and construction teams to ensure designs meet project requirements.
4. Perform design calculations and quantity take-offs.
5. Maintain quality control and documentation of design changes.
6. Assist with site inspections when required.
7. Support project teams to meet critical deadlines.
Minimum Requirements
1. 3-5 years' experience as a Civil Drafter or similar role.
2. Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other design software.
3. Diploma in Civil Engineering, Drafting or equivalent qualification.
4. Strong knowledge of Australian design standards and QLD regulatory requirements.
5. Experience with tropical region civil infrastructure projects.
6. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
7. Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
8. Experience with 12d Model software.
9. Familiarity with GIS applications.
10. Understanding of North Queensland climate considerations for civil designs.
11. Experience with flood mitigation and stormwater management designs.
12. Knowledge of local council submission requirements.
