With over 1000 staff in APAC across 23 Disciplines, we provide global consultancy advice and support on a wide range of strategic and site-specific issues to a diverse and growing base of business, regulatory and governmental clients.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Environmental Consultantto join our Environmental Approvals, Closure and Management team based in our Darwin office. The team provides a wide range of project management, environmental impact assessment, post-approval, operational and closure support to the industrial, mining and infrastructure sectors. The team works alongside other specialist teams in SLR to deliver a complete environmental service to clients ranging from multinational miners, construction contractors, local councils and more. The Darwin team works closely with the Perth team; there is clear opportunity to work across projects in both jurisdictions from the outset. There are opportunities to work closely with the South Australian team as well, particularly around central-Australian projects.

Articulate, motivated and reliable, you will have a 5-10 years' experience in consulting, government or industry.You will enjoy undertaking project work whilst mentoring junior membersand developing client relationshipsthroughout the region. You will also collaborate on projects and initiatives with the national EAC&M Group (circa 60 staff across 10 offices) and other teams within our multi-disciplinary business. The successful applicant will be pivotal to the continued success of the growing EAC&M team.

Job tasks and responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:

* Providing advice regarding best practice environmental impact assessment and management principles to clients and internal SLR team members
* Project Management of interesting environmental approvals projects across multiple industries
* Technical contribution/ authorship of impact assessment, compliance and closure documentation
* Developing, facilitating and enhancing effective relationships with our clients and internal SLR team members nationally
* Working within multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across a range of sectors
* Delivering clear and precise, high-quality reports
* Occasional travel to undertake field assessments/ site familiarisation walkovers


Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you will need:

* A degree in Environmental Science, Town Planning, Engineering or a related field
* Minimum of 5-10 years' experience in environmental roles in consulting, industry or regulation
* Demonstrated experience working on or leading multidisciplinary projects
* Demonstrated client management expertise and business development skills advantageous
* Demonstrated knowledge of NT & Commonwealth environmental legislation and policies, standards and guidelines
* Knowledge of WA or SA legislation and policy would be an advantage, but is not required
* Experience in the mining, infrastructure and/or industrial sectors.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia
