Founding Psychologist — Expression of Interest
Continuum Teletherapy & Allied Health
About the Opportunity
Continuum Teletherapy & Allied Health is an emerging telehealth service focused on supporting individuals who experience significant barriers accessing traditional healthcare.
Many people delay or avoid healthcare due to:
* severe anxiety or healthcare-related trauma
* sensory sensitivities or disability
* overwhelming shame, fear, or past negative experiences
For these individuals, the barrier is rarely motivation — it is the healthcare environment itself.
Continuum is being developed to create a compassionate, trauma-informed pathway into healthcare, integrating psychological support with broader healthcare access through telehealth.
The aim is to support individuals who struggle to engage with healthcare systems and help them access the care they need in a safe and supportive way.
We are currently inviting Expressions of Interest from psychologists who may be interested in contributing to the development of this model of care.
The Role
The founding psychologist will play an important role in shaping the psychological care component of Continuum.
This may include:
* providing telehealth psychological consultations
* supporting individuals experiencing healthcare anxiety or avoidance
* assisting patients with trauma-related barriers to healthcare
* contributing to the development of trauma-informed care pathways
* collaborating with allied health and healthcare providers
* helping shape the clinical framework of the service
Services will initially be delivered via telehealth, with flexibility in how the model evolves as the service develops.
Ideal Candidate
We are interested in psychologists who are passionate about improving access to healthcare for individuals who face complex barriers to care.
Relevant experience or interests may include:
* anxiety or phobia treatment
* disability support
* working with complex or vulnerable populations
* telehealth service delivery
* innovative or emerging healthcare models
We anticipate this role may suit psychologists with approximately 5+ years of clinical experience, particularly those comfortable working independently with complex presentations.
Applicants must hold current registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
Why This Opportunity Is Unique
This is not a standard clinic role.
The founding psychologist will have the opportunity to help shape an innovative service focused on improving access to healthcare for people who have traditionally struggled to engage with healthcare systems.
The role offers the chance to contribute to the design of a compassionate, trauma-informed model of care that aims to reduce barriers and improve patient experiences across healthcare.
Expression of Interest
We are currently inviting expressions of interest from psychologists who would like to learn more about this opportunity and potentially contribute to the development of this service.
Initial conversations will focus on exploring alignment of values, clinical interests, and potential collaboration.
Timeline
This is an early-stage Expression of Interest.
Initial conversations with interested psychologists are expected to take place over the coming 2–3 months, with the aim of exploring potential collaboration as the service model develops.
