They are seeking an experienced purchasing officer to join their team on a temporary basis!
**The Role**
- Interpret Bill of Materials (BOM) information and organise quotes
- Receive quotes, negotiate best possible prices and place purchase orders with suppliers
- Receive, check and process purchase orders for local, interstate, and overseas purchases
- Verify incoming and outgoing goods against records
- Provide information about price to engineering and production
- Maintain records of goods received and despatched
- Record customs clearance requirements and authorise collection of cargo
- Organising despatch and collection of goods (Including logistics)
- Place receipted goods on shelves or in storage
- Work with our Spares and Service division to control inventory
- Report non-conformances for goods received
- Learn and proficiently work within our Ostendo business management database
- Document procedures for planning, purchasing, despatch regarding safety and quality objectives
**About You**
You will have extensive experience as a purchasing officer/assistant
You will be available to commit to the hours 7:30am - 4pm non negotiable
You will have outstanding verbal/written and interpersonal skills
You will have the ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively
You will have exceptional attention to detail
You will have exceptional problem-solving skills
You will be immediately available to commence work
