About The Role
An exciting opportunity to work autonomously while collaborating with health professionals to assess and manage patients using advanced nursing knowledge. Working Monday to Friday, you'll lead and shape systems that support safe, coordinated and patient‑centred cancer care. You'll deliver high‑standard, evidence‑based nursing practice while driving improvements across oncology and haematology services. This advanced practice role offers strong scope for leadership, service development and research contribution.
What You'll Do
* Provide advanced assessment, diagnosis and patient management
* Use extended practice skills including prescribing and ordering investigations
* Lead coordination of safe, effective, patient‑centred cancer care
* Educate patients on treatment plans and care options
* Partner closely with oncology, haematology and ambulatory teams
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver comprehensive assessment and diagnostic reasoning
* Plan and implement therapeutic interventions
* Communicate management plans to multidisciplinary teams and GPs
* Refer patients appropriately across the care pathway
* Lead research, quality improvement and best‑practice initiatives
* Model collaborative, values‑aligned leadership
Skills & Experience
* Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
* Endorsed (or working towards endorsement) as a Nurse Practitioner
* Master of Nurse Practitioner or equivalent + medication module
* Strong capability across cancer care and symptom management
* Skilled communicator with capacity for autonomous practice

This position is paid in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2024 - 2028. The classification is Nurse Practioner (N01) which is- $73.33 per hour.
