MH O’Rourke Funeral Directors are a respected, family-owned funeral home that has been serving the Queanbeyan community with care, dignity, and professionalism for many years. We are currently seeking a dedicated Funeral Director’s Assistant (FDA) to join our team on a casual basis .
About the Role
This position plays an important role in the day-to-day operations of our funeral home, providing both administrative and hands-on support to our Funeral Directors.
You will be involved in supporting families, assisting during services, and helping ensure each funeral is delivered with professionalism and compassion. This role may also require after-hours work from time to time.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing first point-of-contact support to families with empathy and professionalism
* Assisting with funeral service preparation and operations
* Attending funeral services and supporting Funeral Directors as required
* Transfers of the deceased, carried out with dignity, care, and respect
* Managing administrative tasks and documentation
* Handling phone and email enquiries with care and sensitivity
* Coordinating with internal team members and external stakeholders
* Ensuring compliance with relevant policies and legislative requirements
About You
We are looking for someone who brings the right attitude and values to the role. Experience in the funeral industry is not essential .
