Grade 3 Clinical Psychologist Rehabilitation — Permanent part-time (3 days a week) position within The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH), Melbourne.

About the Role

Clinical Psychologist (Grade 3) – Rehabilitation is a permanent part time position (3 days per week) in the Rehabilitation Department at RCH.

Responsibilities

- Provide specialist inpatient and ambulatory rehabilitation in partnership with children and families who require interdisciplinary, goal-focused, innovative care.
- Ensure a best-practice approach to the delivery of rehabilitation, focusing on the child’s needs in the context of everyday activities and lifetime opportunities, empowering children to create their goals and own their rehabilitation journey.
- Supervise two part-time Grade 2 psychologists (1 FTE).

What You’ll Achieve

As a clinical psychologist with the VPRS at RCH, you will provide evidence-based, best-practice psychological assessments and interventions for inpatients and outpatients with conditions including acquired brain injury, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, chronic fatigue syndrome, functional neurological disorders and other neurological conditions. The role is part of a large interdisciplinary rehabilitation team, with peer and individual supervision available within the department and strong links to the broader Psychology department. The position offers opportunities for professional development and learning.

Requirements

- Current National Criminal Record Check, or willingness to obtain.
- Valid Working with Children Check.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain.
- Compliance with RCH Staff Immunisation – Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases policy.
