Business Analyst (with Quality Assurance Experience)
Reporting to: Delivery Manager / Project Manager
About the Role
We are looking for a Business Analyst with Quality Assurance experience to join our delivery team in Melbourne.
This role combines business analysis and quality assurance responsibilities, ensuring business requirements are clearly defined, solutions meet stakeholder expectations, and releases are delivered to a high standard of quality.
You will work closely with clients, product teams, project managers, and developers to translate requirements into functional specifications while validating that delivered solutions meet acceptance criteria through structured testing and quality checks.

Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis
* Work with clients and stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document business and functional requirements.
* Facilitate workshops and requirement discovery sessions.
* Translate business needs into user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.
* Document workflows, system interactions, and data requirements.
* Maintain requirement traceability throughout the delivery lifecycle.
* Support backlog refinement and sprint planning within Agile delivery environments.
Quality Assurance & Testing
* Develop test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on documented requirements.
* Perform manual testing and coordinate automated testing where applicable.
* Validate system functionality against defined requirements and acceptance criteria.
* Identify, document, and track defects using issue management tools.
* Support regression testing and integration testing activities.
* Ensure releases meet defined quality standards before deployment.
Release Readiness & Validation
* Review and validate release notes to ensure accuracy and completeness.
* Perform pre-release quality checks prior to handover to stakeholders or clients for testing.
* Confirm delivered functionality aligns with documented requirements.
* Support the preparation of release packages for production deployment.
Stakeholder Collaboration
* Work closely with product owners, developers, and project managers to clarify requirements.
* Participate in sprint reviews, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
* Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders.
* Maintain high-quality documentation including:
* Solution Design Documentation
* Process diagrams
* Contribute to continuous improvements in BA and QA processes.
* Support best practices in requirements management, testing, and release quality.
* Strong business analysis and requirements gathering skills
* Experience with test planning, manual testing, and defect management
* Ability to produce clear technical documentation and process diagrams
* Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
* Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business teams
* Experience with JIRA, Confluence, or similar platforms is desirable.
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Computer Science, or a related field
* 3 to 5 years' experience as a Business Analyst, QA Analyst, or combined BA/QA role
* Experience working in Agile delivery environments
* Proven experience writing functional requirements and test documentation
* Experience in software product or system implementation projects
Experience in HealthTech or digital health systems is desirable but not mandatory and will be considered an advantage.
