As the company continues to expand, an exciting opportunity has become available for a dedicated and skilled Machine Mechanic (Business Machine Mechanic) to join their growing team. This full-time, permanent position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth performance and reliability of the company's extensive range of cleaning equipment, including manually operated and robotic floor scrubbers, steam cleaners, and other specialised machinery.
The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing faults, performing repairs, delivering customer support, and ensuring machines operate safely and efficiently. This position suits someone with strong technical aptitude, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance & Repair
Test and inspect the full range of machines supplied to clients.
Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical faults efficiently to minimise downtime.
Carry out repairs including component replacements, adjustments, and reassembly.
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment such as robotic and manual floor scrubbers, vacuum systems, and steam cleaners.
Test and verify machinery after repairs to ensure optimal performance.
Customer Support
Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers experiencing equipment issues.
Train customers in the correct use, care, and maintenance of equipment to maximise machine lifespan.
Troubleshooting & Diagnostics
Use diagnostic tools and technical knowledge to rapidly identify and resolve machine issues.
Apply corrective actions to prevent future breakdowns and ensure machinery reliability.
Parts & Inventory Management
Manage spare parts inventory and ensure required components are available for efficient repair workflows.
Coordinate with internal staff to support timely ordering and restocking of parts.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain detailed service logs outlining work performed, parts used, and future recommendations.
Prepare regular reports on machine performance, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement.
Compliance & Safety
Follow all workplace safety standards and company protocols when servicing or handling machinery.
Ensure all equipment meets relevant safety and industry compliance requirements.
Continuous Improvement
Stay informed about new technologies, machinery advancements, and industry best practices.
Provide feedback on product improvements and service processes based on field experience.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Qualifications
AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV. At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.
Experience
Minimum one year of relevant post-qualification experience as a Business Machine Mechanic.

HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time role requiring at least 38 hours per week .
