Contracts Specialist / Quantity Surveyor
The role is based with Cast Civil, supporting civil construction projects through contract, cost and commercial management from tender to completion.
Responsibilities
Negotiate contracts and communicate professionally with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
Ensure project staff comply with commercial requirements in contracts.
Support teams to deliver projects on time, to budget and to quality standards.
Maintain positive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
Apply strong contract, commercial and financial risk management.
Assist estimating team on tenders and pre-qualifications.
Manage project commercial tasks, contractual issues and disputes.
Compile scopes of work, tender analysis and letting of subcontract/supplier packages.
Assist with project budget compilation and ongoing budget management.
Issue variations, EOTs, NODs and other contractual notices/claims.
Maintain project commercial registers and month-end forecasting.
Compile payment claims and client invoicing; assess subcontractor payment claims.
Conduct regular site visits to support project teams.
Manage client relationships and identify new contract opportunities.
Carry out additional tasks assigned by the Senior Project Manager – Civil.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.
3–5 years' experience in a similar civil construction role.
Strong understanding of Australian Standard contracts and commercial frameworks.
Advanced Excel and reporting skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills.
