The Board of Directors of Minimbah Preschool Primary School are seeking a passionate, culturally responsive Executive Principal to lead our Independent Aboriginal Primary School into its next chapter of growth and excellence.
Our school, including our Aboriginal Preschool catering for children aged 3-5, is a proud, community-led learning environment located in the beautiful regional town of Armidale, NSW. Armidale is in the Northern Tablelands and serves as a major administrative, educational, and service hub for the New England region, offering a blend of rural charm and urban amenities with a population over 20,000.
We centre Aboriginal culture and identity in everything we do, while welcoming children and families for all backgrounds. We are committed to providing a nurturing and high-quality education that empowers our young people to thrive both academically and culturally.
Key Responsibilities of the role
* Provide strong leadership aligned with Aboriginal perspectives and community aspirations
* Lead the development and implementation of the school’s strategic vision and goals
* Foster a culturally safe and inclusive learning environment for all students and staff
* Build and maintain meaningful relationships with community, families, and stakeholders
* Oversee daily operations, staffing, and financial management of the school
* Support and develop staff through effective leadership and mentoring
* Work alongside the Preschool Director to ensure the effective operation of our Department of Education governed Preschool
* Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and educational requirements
About You
* Demonstrated experience in senior educational leadership
* Deep understanding of, and commitment to, Aboriginal culture and communities
* Proven ability to lead school improvement and drive positive student outcomes
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage authentically with community
* Experience working in, or alongside, Aboriginal organisations is highly regarded
* Relevant Qualifications and current NESA Registration
