Primary Objective
As the Executive Assistant to leadership, you will provide efficient and effective, high-level advice and executive support to School
Leadership team as well as the school community.
Context Statement
Sadadeen Primary School is a unique urban primary school catering for students from Preschool to Year 6. 95% of the students
who attend Sadadeen are Aboriginal, with many language groups represented. Positive engagement of student learning is enhanced
by a focus on the creative arts, child-centred practice across the school and working actively with our school community and
relevant agencies in the wider community to deliver programs supporting the wellbeing of our students. Sadadeen School supports
cultural diversity and understanding. Sadadeen school encompasses the primary school, two preschools, one onsite and one offsite
and the KITES program.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide high level administrative and executive services to assist the Leadership Team in meeting the operational needs of the
school, ensuring high level correspondence and maintenance of accurate records.
2. Undertake teaching and learning staff recruitment including school induction activities.
3. Co-ordinate the delivery of key school activities and community events, including liaising with stakeholders.
4. Conduct research, ad hoc project work and timely management and accurate reporting of information to provide assistance to
the Principal and Business Manager.
5. Manage the Sadadeen Primary School marketing strategies including social media, communications within the school and school
community and ensure accurate promotion of school events and initiatives.
6. Provide support with front office reception duties as required, to ensure smooth school operations.
7. Provide support to the Business Manager to ensure accurate and timely completion of all financial requirements within the
school and backfill in the absence of the Business Manager.
Selection Criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in executive and secretariat roles at a senior level, excellent organisational skills, ability to work
independently, manage multiple projects and meet conflicting deadlines.
2. Demonstrated experience in meetings management, procedures and minutes taking, accurate proofing skills and the ability to
examine information from an end user perspective.
3. Demonstrated prominent level oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and maintaining high levels of
confidentiality pertaining to staff, student, and the public from a range of cultural, religious and socio – economic backgrounds.
4. Demonstrated successful experience working with a range of IT resources, software, and computer applications, including
databases, social media platforms and websites.
5. Knowledge of the Acts and Regulations and other associated NT Government processes and procedures or the ability to obtain.
