As an HGV Driver/Highway Maintenance Operative, you will play a vital role in maintaining Scotland's trunk road network. You will report to Operations Supervisor and Operations Manager and be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of the public, colleagues, and yourself while performing tasks such as winter maintenance duties, carriageway patching, traffic sign erection, and footway improvements.
Responsibilities:
* Fitting gritter body and blade, driving gritter, and spreading salt by hand if required.
* Driving state-of-the-art snow ploughs during winter months when conditions dictate.
* Carrying out carriageway patching, traffic sign erection, footway improvements, and cyclic duties like grip cleaning, sign washing, and gully cleaning.
Requirements:
* HGV Licence
* Knowledge of Health and Safety rules and procedures
* Previous experience as a roadworker is desirable but training can be provided
* Physically fit for working in sometimes arduous conditions
* Experience of using small plant
* Tickets for plant, traffic management, and Health and Safety are advantageous
